Step 1 – Registration
Visit the official National Rooftop Portal for registration:

Step 2 – Application
Fill the application with necessary details & upload documents. Select Moopens Solar as your empaneled vendor.
Step 3 – Site Inspection
Moopens solar team will visit your home to assess the rooftop conditions, shade free area & DISCOM requirements.
Step 4 – Approval from DISCOM (Distribution Company)
We coordinate with your electricity provider for approval & net metering permission.
Step 5 – System Installation
We install the system using top quality equipment. The installation usually complete within a week of time.
Step 6 – Net Metering & Commissioning
Net meter will be installed & solar power starts flowing to your home & grid.
Step 7 – Subsidy Disbursement

The subsidy amount will be credited directly to the customer’s bank account once the installation & customization is done.
Can I install a capacity higher than 3 kW?
Yes. You can install as you wish, but the subsidy is capped at 3kW.
How much area will be needed for installing a 3 kW system?
Approximately 250-300 sq. ft. of shade free area would be required.
Is there a need for net metering?
Yes. Net metering allows your solar system to export excess solar power to the grid & to receive credits on electricity bills.
Does the customer need to pay full amount upfront for solar installation?
Yes. The customer has to pay the full amount upfront. The subsidy amount will be credited by government into your bank account as a reimbursement later.
What if my solar panel produce power more than what I consume?
Through net metering, the excess power goes back to the grid & you can receive credits on your electricity bill.
How long does the entire process take?
The entire process from registration to subsidy reimbursement generally takes 30 – 45 days, depending on DISCOM timelines.
Can tenants apply for the PM Surya Ghar scheme?
No. Only property owners with ownership documents are eligible to avail the scheme & receive subsidy.
